Piru Creek 2024

The plan was Bear Creek camp in Rose Valley - however we needed to change.  We went to Piru Creek instead.

Friday night we hit the Piedra Blanca trailhead, headed for Bear Creek camp.  At the first water crossing, we had very swift water and depths up to our waist.  We went up and down the creek without finding any safe place to cross.  We decided to re-group in the morning, so we all went home.

Saturday morning, we decided to go to Piru Creek.  Water crossing was not bad, so continued on.  Water was REALLY cold, but manageable.

Great weather for the rest of the day.  Overnight got below freezing and water bottles froze.

A good time was had by all.
